Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) is the process by which the government is seeking to ensure increased participation of black people in the economy of South Africa. BEE is a legislatively based program established in terms of the Broad-Based Black Economic Act, 2003.
In February 2007, the BEE Codes of Good Practice (“the Codes”) were gazetted, and provide universal standards for the implementation and measurement of BEE initiatives, with the view of providing transparency and consistency on BEE.

BBBEE aka BEE is an important component of doing business in South Africa, and if your company has a good rating, then your clients and prospective clients will earn BEE points by using you as a supplier.
